A timeless Euphony !

A Timeless Euphony: My quick take on Kannada movie “Sapta Sagaraache Ello-side b” (Cinematic release)

It’s a beautiful Culmination of a Cinematic Odyssey

In the poignant conclusion of this poetic saga, director Hemant Rao masterfully weaves the threads of love and life in the second part of this cinematic journey. My Doubts about the narrative's direction were dispelled as Part 2 (Side 😎 unfurled, leaving one utterly spellbound. (It could have easily swayed into a classic Romeo Juliet tale or could have become a violent revenge saga)

This isn't a movie where a single individual claims the spotlight; it's an ensemble of brilliance. Rao's impeccable writing, the mesmerizing direction, the stellar cast delivering goosebump-inducing performances, and the soul-stirring melodies orchestrated by music director Charan all culminate in a symphony of cinematic excellence. Even the song lyrics leave one breathless ("usire...."). To top it all the climax action can give likes of Rocky bhai, pathan bhai and Tigers run for their money.

From classic cinematography to immaculate set design and action sequences that rival the best, every aspect aligns seamlessly, leaving no room for missteps or misfits. This movie lingers, akin to the aftereffect of a fine single malt—its haunting quality etches into memory, transporting many back to their own "sapta sagara phase."

Rao's finesse lies in his play with colors, textures, and metaphors. The shift from blue hues in Side A to the vivid reds, portraying the stark urbanization ( one has to cut through the flex banner in front of an tall building to get real sunlight - simply wow sir) is a stroke of genius. The metaphorical imagery, like a stationary railway coach amidst a rapidly moving life, is intellectually stimulating, split images in a broken mirror ….. and many more of such setups leaving one in awe of such profound metaphors . I enjoyed a fixed frame action shots in climax, wow👌

The performances are stellar across the board, with the main leads shining brightly, supported by exceptional talents like Gopal Deshapande, Chaitra Achaar, and the captivating Ramesh Indra, whose compelling portrayal demands attention. It was nice to get a glimpse of my close buddy Vageesh Vishwanath B K in a small but important role (now i can vouch that i had to travel sapta sagaraache to watch my muscati buddy 😜)

Personally for me it was trip down the memory lanes as Nostalgia of my “sapta sagaraaache days" seeped through, it will be resonating deeply with audiences as well. This poetic masterpiece merits not just applause but also the anticipation of several National Awards—such is its brilliance.

Don’t miss this Poetry on celluloid.
