Baby, stay out : My quick take on “Baby John” (Theatrical release)

Baby, baby, yes papa,

Making remakes, yes papa.

Is it carbon copy? No papa!

Are you joking? Ha ha ha.

Baby John is the cinematic equivalent of reheated leftovers—it fills the plate but leaves you craving something fresh. The plot? A blender mix of Baby John and Bhai Jaan, served with a side of “we’ve seen this before.”

Varun Bhai valiantly tries to step into Thala’s shoes but ends up with a loose fit. Perhaps some original storytelling would’ve tightened things up. As it stands, you’ll still love his Bhediya over this Baby—because at least Bhediya howled with originality.

The action? Slick. The story? Flimsier than a soap bubble.

And now, the ladies:

• Kirit Suresh makes an impressive Hindi debut, nailing the Bollywood girl-next-door vibe.

• Wamiqa Gabbi graduates from OTT to the big screen, and it’s a degree well-earned.

• The third lady? The girl child, whose dubbed dialogues scream काकु बाई wisdom way beyond her years.

Jaggu Dada shines as a bad bhidu, Rajpal Yadav aces his comedy-meets-serious moments, and the screenplay? It has more holes than a mosquito net in monsoon. The plot is so incoherent, it feels like it was pieced together during a power outage.

Verdict: Watch it for the cast, endure it for the laughs, and forget it as soon as the credits roll. Baby John is proof that sometimes, remakes are best left in the “no papa” category.
