Bleep bleep bleeeep: My quick take of web series’Apharan’
If this series was released on any TV Chanel then the censors would have slogged very hard to ‘bleep out desi cuss words and if it was done the entire series would’ve sounded as bleep bleep bleep. A crime thriller about kidnapping for ransom is filled with only dark characters, yes you read it right, in the entire series you will not find a positive character, every character is a negative character with questionable morality.
It's a high-paced, profanity-filled, cat n mouse plot with fantastic twists and turns which makes it a watchable product. The best part is each episode is just 30 mins long and beautifully shot on banks of Ganga (holy Haridwar). The use of famous Hindi tunes at the start of each episode is a masterstroke as it sets the pace of the episode. Tall hunk Arunoday Singh, who is the main protagonist is impressive as a desperate and suspended cop. The Series does not boast of any big names and that is a masterstroke by the makers as the entire cast is just perfect. A special mention of Sanand Verma playing the role of lecherous Dubey is simply awesome.
This series was released in 2018, but in 2020 it does not lose its sheen, you can still relate to the plot. If you can stand the barrage of bleep bleep bleep profanities and witness some Bleepfast-paced cat n mouse game with lots of twists and turns then you should not miss this bleep bleep bleep.
