Damn it! Have mercy: My quick take on Van Damme’s ‘The last mercenary’ (Netflix)
I earnestly wish and pray the let this be the last of the action movies to be played by this jaded martial art actor. This universal soldier looks old, wrinkled, and worn out and of course totally out of place in this action-comedy.
The movie may remind you of typical Leslie Nielson action comedy movies ( spy hard, naked gun/s ) or pink panther movies plots. Van Damme plays a French spy who is dumped by authorities 25 years ago, who now works independently as a mercenary. He has to return to France to save his son who is wrongly implicated. The maker has tried his best to pack awesome action scenes to resurrect the aging kickboxer but somehow कुछ जमा नहीं.
According to me you can ignore this movie which is on Netflix, instead watch JVCD’s earlier movies like universal soldier, double impact or even expandable.
Overall it's a dumb and silly action comedy which is as bad as the horrible wigs JVCD has worn in many avatars in this goofy comedy.
