Deadly Daredevil Dhurandar : My quick take on the movie “Dhurandar” (Theatrical release)
Aditya Dhar’s “Josh” is clearly intact as he delivers a dhamakedaar Dhurandar. This film deserves a watch , for its novel plot, its carefully chosen cast, their gripping performances, and the way it recreates an era of yesteryears with striking authenticity. The production design and locations make you feel like you’re truly walking through the dangerous, claustrophobic lanes of ‘lyari’ Karachi. Dialogues hit hard, action choreography stands out, and the raw brutality exposes the termites in our system without a hint of hesitation.
Ghar mein ghus kar marne ke baad, ab filmon mein ghus kar marne ka waqt aa gaya hai , mera Bharat badal raha hai.
For the first time, Bollywood has moved away from the usual glossy, pretty-faced and thunder thighs portrayals of ISI agents and instead embraced a grounded, realistic tone.
And above all , watch it as a homage to countless “Dhurandars,” the unsung, unnamed, unknown gunmen who keep us safe while the world sleeps.
Aditya Dhar, take a bow. This one shook me, stired me, and built that genuine excitement for Part 2.
Having recently rewatched Fauda, I had my doubts whether Bollywood could ever match that intensity. Dhar has proved that we can, and how.
Inspired by real incidents, the plot smartly tracks the journey of an undercover agent operating behind enemy lines. And the performances are a masterclass:
•R. Madhavan, adapting effortlessly to every shade of his character.
•Akshaye Khanna, bringing a controlled menace that lingers.
•Sanjay Dutt, carrying sheer natural presence.
•Arjun Rampal, chilling and intense in every frame.
•Rakesh Bedi, surprising in a completely new avatar.
And then there’s Ranveer Singh as Dhurandar , perhaps his career-best performance. For this one alone, his off-screen quirks can be pardoned.
What worked brilliantly:
•The chapter-wise storytelling, each segment adding a fresh dimension.
•The clever use of classic Bollywood tracks that deepen the emotional texture.
•The pacing , solid enough to make 3.5 hours feel consistently engaging.
Yes, the romantic portions could have been trimmed, but perhaps they are setting up something bigger for Part 2.
Overall, apun ko maza aaya.
A bold, immersive watch that pushes Bollywood into a new zone of authenticity and courage.
