Diet Thriller: My quick take on Netflix's ‘Intrusion’

This thriller is as tasteless as any ‘diet’ cola. One of the reasons why I chose to watch this movie was our Freida Pinto who has now established herself in Hollywood as a bankable actor. Unfortunately even she was unable to save this insipid movie.

A predictable plot of a couple who move into a small town but in a plush newly built house. Frieda is a breast cancer survivor and her hubby is an Architecture. The ultra-modern house is designed by Frieda’s hubby is situated in the wilderness, right in the middle of nowhere and away from any civilization. One day when the couple returns home late at night, they find that someone has broken into the house. After few days this happens once again. I should admit that the house break sequence is the only ‘thrilling’ part of the movie.

During the second housebreak a skirmish takes place in which all but one intruder are neutralized by the husband. The one survivor is critically injured and is admitted in ICU. The investigation team identifies the intruders from the neighboring ghetto. They all belong to one family. Surprisingly the house break does not end up in a burglary, this is where the plot becomes predictable as to who are these guys, what were they looking for in this house. There is a subplot of a missing girl belonging to the burglar's family.

Let me not reveal the plot further as it will let off whatever little fizz this story has. But midway through the movie, I had a feeling that the movie is going the ‘dryshyam’ way 😉.

I would not recommend this movie, instead, watch some episodes of Crime Patrol you may love to see Inspector Pradyuman and much gadbadwala Daya in action 😁.
