Experience Breathlessness

Experience breathlessness: My quick take on ‘Don’t Breathe 2’

Visiting theater after a long gap was indeed a ‘homecoming’ experience. In the BC era ( before Covid 😜) era, it had become a ritual for us to visit these wonderful theaters in Dubai on weekends.

This Friday saw part 2 of Don't Breath for a simple reason that part 1 was damn good a thriller.

Technically you can't call this a sequel, as the story of part 1 does not dovetail into this part 2. Hence even if you have not watched part 1 it will not hamper your viewing. Except for the character of Notman Nordstrom, an ex-Navy Seal who is blinded in some operation is now living in a secluded house in the woods with an adopted daughter.

This serene plot setting suddenly takes off when there is an attempt to kidnap the daughter. But the kidnappers are unaware of the strength of this war-torn veteran whose sixth sense has substituted for his loss of vision.

Thriller is packed with some ‘bloody’ action scenes, a bit on this extreme side. The choreography of action scenes is simply ‘breathtaking’. I thoroughly enjoyed it. There are many edge-of-the-seat moments in the movie which is bound to make you ‘breathless’ at times.

Plot has some unthinkable twists which makes the story more darker. If you love thrill and action than just Don't miss this movie. You will love this ‘Avatar’ villain (Stephen Lang) as blind Navy seal whose motto is plain and simple ‘only easy day was yesterday.

If you can sit through blood-spilling action shots ad you love this genre of an action-packed thriller, you will enjoy this home invasion plot. It is ‘literally’ an eye-popping movie. (pun intended)
