सदृश्यम or सुंदर दृश्यम : My quick take on Mohanlal’s ‘Drishyam -2’
Only flaw in this sequel of earlier master piece is that one will not enjoy this movie without watching the first movie. It’s not a stand alone movie, if you have not watched the earlier (part 1) then please watch it first.
This movie broke my myth that sequels are usually duds , secondly it also reinforced my belief that language of a movie can never be a barrier for you to understand the movie if it as well made as Drishyam 2 ( remember Shakarabharanam, starring Manju Bhargavi , it became a pan India hit) . This is available on Amazon’s prime video OTT platform in Malayalam language ( English sub titles are available).
Let me not elaborate on the plot of this thriller or should I say Murder Mystery. Just watch it for it’s awesome screen play, wonderful direction , breathtaking beauty of Gods Own country, incredible acting performances by each and every character irrespective of length of their roles and above all watch it for a power house performance of Mohanlal. I am confident you will love this George kutty’s cat n mouse game strategy.
Movie literally ambles/crawls for nearly half of time, it may seem to be painfully slow but later on you will realize the genius of Director for taking sweet time to ‘build’ the plot. Like T20 the final overs of the movie is simply awesome literally speaking it’s twist a minute kind of edge of seat experience. Take a bow - writer/ director.
Pardon me for a spoiler that Movie ends in such a way that one can expect few more sequels or should I say director Jeeju Joseph has created a ‘George kutty’s universe’
