Insanity weds asininity : My quick take on “Tinku weds Sheru” (Amazon Prime)

Just stay away!!!!

Absurd, insane and crass so-called satirical comedy-drama. I fail to understand how after giving a kind of cult classic “Tanu weds Manu” , someone like talented Kangana can produce this stupid product!!!! 😡. Looks like the director Sai kabir got into good books of Kangana after directing yet again a ‘forgettable’ movie called ‘Revolver Rani’, maybe as an act of redemption he would have done this tinku thing on FOC basis.

Only good thing about the movie is casting of Nawazuddin, who plays ‘Sheru’ junior artist dreaming of making it big in the movies. This is best fit character for Nawazuddin’s फटीचर persona (he can never fit in any aristocratic role 😜) . Avneet Kaur, a known TV star debuts as the female lead, she plays Tinku, who is also star struck and wants to become a ‘heroine’ in Hindi movies.

Plot is not novel at all, it talks about dark underbelly of Bollywood which is murky and filthy, where most of aspirants like Tinku end up warming the beds of casting directors and movie Mughals. Writing is pathetic, performances is atrocious, dialogs are filthy (filled with profanity) , and above all the climax is simply obnoxious (can you imagine Nawazuddin cross-dressing and dancing 🫤)

Save yr 2 hours, instead watch Tanu weds Manu once again.
