“Mary”वा बन गई “Bloody”वा ! : My quick take on “Bluff” (Amazon Prime)

Some actors relocate.

Some reinvent.

And then there is Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who has quietly turned global action into her side hustle.

From chasing terrorists in Quantico to trading secrets in Citadel, she has steadily upgraded from dramatic intensity to full-contact combat credibility. The Kashibai chapter now feels like a prequel. This is the “don’t test me” sequel.

If there was any lingering doubt about whether “हमारी छोरी किसी से कम है क्या?”, she has answered it with ammunition.

In Bluff on Amazon Prime Video, she plays a reformed pirate embracing island domesticity. “माझे परिवार, माझी जबाबदारी “activated. The sea is calm. The vibe is peaceful. Suspiciously peaceful.

Because cinema law clearly states: if a warrior retires, their past must return with interest.

Mary 2.0 is forced to uninstall peace and reinstall violence. Bloody Mary is back. This time, no celery. Only casualties.

And facing her is the dangerously charismatic Karl Urban, bringing brooding menace with model-level jawline confidence. He wears villainy like it’s tailored. The face-offs crackle, even when the screenplay occasionally slips into autopilot mode.

Is the story layered? Not particularly.

Is it मारधाड़ से भरपूर? Generously.

Is it clear why it chose OTT over theatres? The answer floats right there on the waves. You cannot “Bluff” the audience 😄

Yes, the plot borrows its bones from the well-used “one last mission” skeleton. Predictable turns. Familiar motivations. Logic occasionally on vacation. But the action set pieces? Solid. Crunchy. Designed to distract you from narrative thinness.

Watch it if you enjoy swashbuckling action that serves everything from machetes to cannons, from knife fights to full-blown explosive chaos.

Skip it if you’re hunting for layered storytelling or emotional depth beyond “they messed with the wrong pirate.”

Because explosions can entertain.

Star power can elevate.

But bluffing the audience? That’s a dangerous gamble 😜
