Sarzameen: where your सर meets ज़मीन… out of sheer disbelief !! (Jio hotstar)
KJo’s Dharma factory serves up another khichdi — this time starring Saif’s son Ibrahim on-screen and Boman Irani’s son behind the camera. Like every family recipe gone wrong, Sarzameen is a confused, undercooked mix of Fanaa, Mission Kashmir, and Shakti — minus the flavor, sense, or soul.
I had thankfully dodged Ibrahim’s debut with Khushi Kapoor, but somehow landed in this chaos disguised as cinema. Especially after the heroics of Operation Sindoor and the slickness of Special Ops 2, this so-called anti-insurgency drama feels embarrassingly elementary.
The film tries to be profound but ends up being profoundly pointless. There are more plot holes here than potholes on Indian roads in monsoon — and at least the potholes serve a purpose.
Kajol delivers high-voltage emotions in every scene, even when the moment demands subtlety. She continues from where she left us in Maa in new avatar as Kajol Ajay Devgun 😜. The only one who actually fits the frame is Prithviraj as Captain Menon — fit, focused, and tragically underused.
In the end, Sarzameen lives up to its name — because by the time it’s over, your सर really does hit the ज़मीन, wondering why you didn’t just rewatch Shakti instead.
