Thrill will Kill!!

Thrill will kill : My quick take on movie “Kill” (Theatrical release)

Oh, Karan Johar, the king of glossy, chocolaty romance, has decided to swap his pink heart emojis for blood splatters. Enter "Kill," a bloody, gory, yet surprisingly watchable action extravaganza. It's like someone whispered "The Raid" (2011) in his ear, and he decided to recreate it on a moving train.

No, it's not a rip-off of the Indonesian classic, but the similarity in premise is uncanny. Just swap the multistoried building for a train racing through the tracks. The plot? Oh, just your typical love story where the boy, an NSG commando (because why not?), tags along with his girlfriend and her family. Enter the gang of 40-odd armed robbers, and we've got a heist scenario to rival your worst train commute nightmare. Will our commando hero and his fellow cadet buddy save the day? Well, that’s the whole point.

The action choreography is nothing short of mind-boggling, with stunts staged and shot on a moving train that could give John Wick a run for his money. And then there's Raghav Juyal. Known more for his clowning around as a dance show anchor, he surprises us all with a chilling performance as a cold-blooded, machete-wielding villain. Who knew he had it in him?

The rest of the cast? New faces to me, but I must confess, they were superb in their action sequences. Lakshya, in the main lead, particularly stood out.

The fast-paced plot keeps you on the edge of your seat. If you have a stomach for Korean-style knife fights and can handle gut-wrenching bloody sequences, don’t miss "Kill." Otherwise, you might want to wait for its OTT release. But let's be real, it’s going to have a hard time surviving alongside Kalki in theaters.
