बोझ, परेशानी के उस पार : My quick take on web series “Khoj - parchaiyyo ke uss paar” (zee5)

I have yet to come across a decent movie or web series worth mentioning on ZEE5’s OTT platform, and this khoj does little to change that impression. This khoj starts with an intriguing premise—a man walks into a police station to report his wife missing. The first episode actually manages to hold your interest and keeps you engaged. But then… boom! They decide to stretch it across seven episodes. Honestly, that’s more bojh than khoj.

Talented Sharib Hashmi finally gets his moment in the spotlight as a leading man, and he grabs the opportunity with both hands. His portrayal of a bewildered husband grappling with his wife’s disappearance is commendable. However, just as you’re invested, in walks a woman who claims to be his wife. The next six episodes are spent unraveling the mystery of “वो कौन है?” Spoiler alert: by the end, you might not care anymore.

As for the originality of the plot? Let’s just say there’s no point doing a खोज on this khoj—you’ll only end up with a list of movies you’ve probably already seen. On the performance front, Sharib was good, but Aamir Dalvi as the police inspector was a standout. This guy has a solid future in movies if his nuanced performance here is any indication.

Overall, it’s an okay watch—decent enough if you’re patient or just have nothing better to do. But those seven episodes? Trim them to 2-3, and you’d have a far tighter, more engaging story. Alas, ZEE5 chose to test our endurance instead.
