सजा-ए-काला पानी : My quick take on web series “Kaala Paani” (netflix)

After spending nearly 7 hours spread over nearly two weeks , i can confidently say that it was like experiencing a ‘sentence’ 😎. According to me it was a wasted opportunity of creating a gripping series on a covid like pandemic set in breath-taking location of Andamans. In my view, the writer is to be blamed for this over-stretched plot which remains inconclusive even after 7 episodes. खोदा पहाड़ , निकली हवा 😜

Series without a well-defined protagonist is bound to have a similar fate. Mona Singh shows spark in her meteoric role (pun intended) which is simply a spark-n-miss role. This survival Series is packed with many sub plots which spreads the audience's interest very thin (hence it took me nearly two weeks to complete ). I also did not get it as to why the plot was set in 2027??, did it add any value ?

On the positive, the plot setting in beautiful Virgin settings of Andamans is simply breathtaking, (the series can be a good advertisement for island tourism ) , second one is the impressive cast, ( except for few Marathi actors I did not know most of them) who accomplished well in their respective roles, thirdly the island natives (not sure if they were the real natives ) added more to the authenticity of plot.

Overall if one can endure the overstretched plot meandering through some unwanted subplots then you may like it, else switch on world cup cricket and enjoy.
