हवाई heist : My quick take on “chor nikal ke bhaga” (Netflix)

When someone who has given us some out of box contents like ‘stree’ ‘bala’ and ‘bhedia’ comes up with a new movie then obviously my expectations were raised. Amar Kaushik for a change has not directed this movie (he wrote and produced it) but his touch was evident in this diamond heist with twist.

I only wish the title of the movie was bit more elegant or intruiguing. However it does not hamper the movie as such. Plot involves a couple who plan out a midair heist wherein they can sniff off 120 crores worth diamonds. The girl (yami gautam) is an air hostess while her partner in crime sunny Kaushal is a frequent flyer business man who is debt, hence this heist to क़र्ज़ उतारने के लिये.

Writer has packed the screenplay with enough twists which keeps you glued to your seat. After a long time here comes a Hindi movie where the writing overpowers performances (Malayalam writers will definitely envy this plot).

Yami Gautam continues to look yummy after her marriage, she is now proving to be a queen of mid budget content driven movies. Sunny Kaushal is ok, Sharad kelkar impresses in his brief avataar. The production quality is impressive, the aircraft inside set is nicely manicured. Character and plot built up is slightly overstretched, it could have been trimmed off. But the plot revs up once the plane takes off , as our Pathan bhai says ‘कुर्सी की पट्टी बांध के रखो, मौसम बिगड़ने वाला है, rather twist आनेवाला है”

Best thing of the movie is of course it's writing, next best is it is sans songs or item dance. Thirdly the length of movie, it's short and crisp.
