A Perfect 10? : My quick take on Vin Diesel’s “Fast X”
We have heard/seen a perfect 10 achieved by Olympian Nadia Comenici, and another Ten claimed by Blonde bo Derek, to top it up we have our own ‘Dus Numbri’ in form of Mr India Manoj Kumar 😉, in short, number X is always a special. Now comes the tenth installment of F&F franchise “Fast X” , this two-decade-old franchise has only grown in terms of it's mind-blowing action stunts. Their 9th franchise had gone astral with cars flying in the ‘Ether’, hence the expectations had skyrocketed when I had stepped into the IMAX theater to watch this X. Mind you the movie is tailor-made for IMAX.
It’s a huge collage of mind-blowing car stunts, physics-defying action set pieces, regularly punctuated with cameos of various characters of past 9 movies, plus an emotional thread of family planning 😀(अपने तो अपने होते है type). In short it's a nonstop high-octane action thriller. Some action sequence is simply mind-blowing, just imagine a 20-kilo-ton bomb the size of Indiana Jones Rock is let loose on the slopes of Rome, which rolls down towards the Vatican, just imagine the commotion it can create. (Our Dom manages to sink it in the Tiber River just in time)
Best thing I loved about the movie was its antagonist played by Aquaman Jason Mamoa, he is simply awesome in this psychotic character who can go to any extent to seek खून का बदला खून. His mannerisms might remind you of maverick Jack sparrow. While Dom and his all टकले family members are in their usual avatars. Jason Statham, John Cena and Gal Godot mark their presence in various cameos.
Movies abrupt end clearly indicates the XIth installment is on the drawing board, hence I would not rate this as ‘perfect 10’ but it has enough masala to keep you engaged for 2 hours. When our mindless Pathan could keep you in theaters then Vin Diesel Bandu can definitely keep u engrossed 😜
