AD’s one night stand 😉

Ajay’s one-night stand 😜: My quick take on Ajay Devgun’s “Bhola”

It's a मार धाड़ से भरपूर action pack paisa vasool one-night long movie. It has all the ingredients to make it a Desi John Wick but with some semblance of a story. Though it is an official remake of Lokesh Kanakraj’s movie “Qaithi”, I would say it's a good attempted adaptation. Ajay Devgun has once again attempted to direct a movie and has successfully added one more flop movie in the sequence of Runway 43, Shivay. No doubt Ajay Devgun carries the DNA of his father who was a brilliant Action director in his hay days, this was made evident in Bhola wherein ADhas packed the movie with some mind-blowing action sequences.

In terms of action drama the movie seems to be sharper than the original, however , the original scores over Bhola in a display of emotions which was the tender thread based on which the plot was built. Bhola has few outstanding performers who have dropped their usual shell and blazed out in some unusual avatar. Talented Tabu who is now becoming the female version of Ifteqar / Jagadish Raj dons Khakis once again, but this time she is a Kill Bill liike dabang cop doing all kinds of stunts. (hope Rohit Shetty has found one more cop for his universe). Deepak Dobriyal shedding is garb of a comedian gets into a ruthless villain effortlessly. So does Sanjay Mishra. These guys light up screen whenever they appear in a frame. Dashing Devgun too has few moments where his eyes does talking.

For a change Ravi Basroor’s music was ‘audible’ rather ‘tolerable’. 😉. The cinematography is brilliant in patches, action sequences range from brilliant to basic, and Performances are impressive, however, crispier editing and the redundant item song’s absence would have made it into a seeti podu hit.

AD introducing chota AB in the climax in his ‘androidesque’ avatar ( like Rollex was introduced in Vikram) hints at Bhola 2, maybe it will be called शोला और भोला or बंटी और भोला 😜.

Ongoing IPL would have dented the box office collection, hence it may soon arrive on OTT.
