Boneless, rather brainless !

Boneless rather brainless ‘Haddi’ : My quick take on Nawazuddin’s “Haddi” (Zee5)

Sometimes I wonder as to why this talented and gifted actor Nawazuddin chooses to act in such crass, callous and course movies. My two-word quick take on this movie is “stay away”. A simple revenge drama forcefully fit into the lives of ‘transgenders’ which is randomly shot and incoherently edited in such a way that one may feel “ये हड्डी गले से नहीं निकलती” 😁. Maybe the makers wanted to make a point that they wanted to make a neither good movie nor bad one (something in between 😜)

Despite having some of the best acting talent in the cast like Zeeshan Ayub, Vipin Sharma, Nawaz & Ila Arun, it was the bad writing which let down the film. Nawazuddin is the only saving grace, his portrayal of a transgender Harika is damn convincing. However the antagonist’s casting was simply out of place. Anurag kashyap may be a great director behind camera or a fantastic writer but as an actor he sets an example of how one should not act 😉. He has no menacing persona (he looks like Michelin’s Bibendum) neither his dialog delivery will send chills down the spine, he should better continue to be behind camera and pour some cold water on this ‘acting kida’.

Movie is packed with gory and bloody scenes and spiced up with profanity suitable to the plot. I would blame Kangana for insighting Nawaz for this role, had she not made Tiku weds Sheru in which she had cross dressed Nawaz as ‘sherni’, then this Haddi would not have happened. On lighter note if you want to take ‘revenge’ on someone then recommend this revenge drama to them, else enjoy Asia cup with chicken lollipops
