Dabang Door(wo)man

I accidentally stumbled upon this action thriller on Amazon’s VOD platform and decided to watch it for my favorite actor Jean Reno, little did I know that Jean was playing a suave urban antagonist who loves Wagner’s classical music and is an art connoisseur. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the Ruby Rose who plays an ex-marine. I was told she is the “Batwoman” star, though I have not watched this caped woman serial but now can very well imagine that she must be too good as batwoman too.

The plot may remind you of Bruce Willis’s classic cult movie Diehard, as the movie is jam-packed with mind-blowing stunts. Ruby rose is very convincing as an ex-marine and she excels in all kinds of combats, be it gunfights, knife fights, or hand to hand combat. If you love out and out action movies than this one is for you. (On a lighter note the Batwoman has left one Bruce (Wayne) and has replaced another Bruce(Willis) in what could be termed as Die-hard refurbished make. ) The plot/screenplay is wafer-thin a retired marine who is fighting her demons of not able to secure the safety of her Ambassador when on duty in Romania, finds an odd civilian job as a doorman in a luxury apartment which is undergoing renovation. The action starts when a group of men enters the building to collect priceless paintings worth a few hundreds of millions which an ex-Nazi had smuggled out of Germany and is living in this building. Jean Reno is the leader of the pack and he has played the suave villain beautifully.

The story may be atypical, but it is the mind-boggling action that makes it a must-watch. Watch it for Ruby Rose, she is the real Dabang hero, a real badass (err.. kickass) the movie.
