"Deadly” (pun intended)!! : My quick take “Society of snow” (Netflix)

Absolutely riveting! Movie succinctly captures the essence of the gripping survival tale depicted in "Society of Snow" on Netflix. This Spanish masterpiece, based on Pablo Vinci's novel, unfolds the harrowing story of a Uruguayan air force flight's tragic crash in the unforgiving Andes. The film, Spain's official entry to the 96th Academy Awards, paints an awe-inspiring portrait of resilience and determination. (if I had been jury at Academy Awards, then no marks for guessing who will get my vote)

Against the backdrop of breathtaking snow-laden peaks, the survivors confront blizzards, freezing conditions, and starvation, showcasing an unwavering spirit that refuses to yield. The performances of the relatively unknown cast are nothing short of Oscar-worthy, breathing life into characters that resonate with authenticity.

While the film is originally in Spanish, the English dub enhances accessibility without compromising the emotional depth. The cinematography, not sure whether shot on location or not, is nothing short of breathtaking, and the meticulously crafted frames speak volumes. The VFX depicting the air crash scene is so realistic it steals your breath away.

With minimal dialogue (yet every frame speaks a lot) the film relies on the director's masterful storytelling and the incredible visuals to convey the intensity of the narrative.
