Jiwoo Mera Naam

Jiwoo mera naam : My quick take on Netflix's K-movie “My Name”

Absolutely entertaining, gripping saga packed with punches (literally). This was a real surprise package for me, till date I was under the impression that Koreans have gained mastery over the ‘zombie’ genre plots but this revenge saga turned out to be a fantastic thriller.

The plotline is simple, a teenage girl who is a kind of social outcast because her dad’s nefarious background is an unfortunate witness to his murder. Then what, her only जीने का मक़सद is बदला. This seemingly linear plot is finely edited with some mind boggling hand to hand combats, suddenly takes an interesting twist in the end.

Best part of this mini series is that it is hardly 8-episodes long, secondly the English dubbing quality is high class, thirdly the performances by its cast is too good especially the main protagonist ‘Han ho hee’ is a class act, and above all the action choreography is simply stellar. Like the T20WC first two episodes are bit tardy but later ones are like our matches against afghans , scots and Namibians ie it is simply racy pacy and binge watch worthy.

This series may remind you of Hindi web series’She’ , no it does not have anything similar but for the overall intrigue and thrill it creates is parallel. I feel that series can be very well adapted into a bollywood masala movie with some tapsees or kanganas in the lead.

If you can stand some gross ‘bloody’ action then you can watch it else these chops , cuts and ‘ketchupy’ make over May get to your nerves.
