Just 'Run and hit' the play button of Netflix

Just Run and hit the play button of Netflix: My quick take on Netflix’s “Hit and Run”

Are you a lover of fast-paced thrillers? Do you love zabardast action? Did you enjoy “Fauda”? Did you like hunk Lior Raz in fauda? If your answer is yes, then just don’t miss this 9-episode long thriller streaming on Netflix.

I am a bit surprised why this awesome thriller was not promoted well, I happened to stumble upon this Israeli web series on Netflix by accident. In my view, this is probably the best thriller of 2021 being streamed currently.

Like love at first sight, I was completely floored after watching Fauda and especially the Lior Raz’s acting in it. This stockily built hunk Lior Raz is in a similar role in Hit and runs, with the only difference that in Fauda he was fighting for agencies against terrorists, here he is fighting against the agencies and entire system.

He is in the role of a Travel guide (Segev) in Israel who is a divorcee living with his daughter, who falls in love with a beautiful American dancer who has recently moved to Tel Aviv. They get married and are leading a beautiful life and suddenly there is a twist in the tale, the wife is killed in an accident which is being labeled as a hit n run case.

Segev is hell-bent on finding out who had killed his beautiful wife, as he drills down and digs deep he realizes that the entire case is like quicksand and with every step, he is getting stuck and pulled down. Hats off to the director and writer for a wonderful script that is filled with lots of unexpected twists and turns. As they say, the best thrillers have three main ingredients i.e. the Plot, Setting, and conflict, and this could be a textbook example of how judiciously one uses these ingredients to create an engaging web series like Hit n run.

The ensemble of the cast is awesome, with Lior Raz leading the pack. Action may not look like James Bondish movies with mindless car chases and high octane pyro technique, it is more sedate and realistic with more of one to one manual combats hence looks very convincing and mind-blowing.

I hope season 2 also follows soon, as this series has an open-ended climax which gives enough feelers that S2 might be on the cards.

I love this genre of thriller hence I simply loved this web series, if you too love such action-packed thrillers (or should I say ‘a violent love story) then just don’t miss it, just Run and hit the play button of yr Netflix account.
