‘NSG’ तुझे सलाम: My quick take on Zee5’s new movie ‘State of seize - Temple attack’

Stories of valor, a tale of the courage of Men in Uniform has always pumped me up, be it Uri’s Josh or Hotel Mumbai’s and State of Seize - 26/11 but a chilling tale, or never say die attitude of a commando in जीने की ज़िद. Thanks to ZEE5 for recreating these stories for us.

This story is based on the dastardly attack of terrorists on the Akshardham temple in Gujrat (2002) and how NSG took control of the situation and eliminated heavily armed terrorists.

Creators have taken enough creative liberties to recreate the situation adding a lot of backstories to build up characters and subplots of visitors to spice up the plot with emotional content, I wish they had stuck to the original story.

Ken Ghosh has directed this movie, good thing is that they have not overstretched the plot to make it into a mindless web series, instead, they kept it crisp and concise. The movie belongs to Akshay Khanna, who has slipped into the skin of a fit NSG commando., rather he is the only known face in the cast. The second thing which impressed me was the Temple complex created for the shoot (it is as impressive as the original one). The performances of cold-blooded terrorists are also very impressive. The action scenes and gunfights though may look a bit amateurish but manage to deliver the required tense moments. One more thing which impressed me was the movie was sans usual jingoistic rhetoric instead it focused on the courage of our soldiers.

I only wished the movie was released next month I.e to coincide with our ‘Independence day’ as it would have been a fitting tribute to Black Cats who's war cry is ‘साहस की विजय’. Thanks ZEE5 for making such inspiring tales of valor of so many unsung warriors who have laid down their lives for sake of our motherland.
