A Triumph of Resilience and Courage! , In Vidhu Vinod Chopra's latest masterpiece, '12th Fail,' he orchestrates an inspiring journey that resonates deeply with the essence of determination and unwavering focus. Shedding the shadows of past disappointments (Shikara) this film emerges as a shining beacon of triumph, marking a stellar return for the maestro filmmaker who had given us stellar movies like Parinda, Khamosh & 1942 Love story as director. His ploy of using Atalji’s kavita ‘हार नहीं मानूँगा, रार नहीं मानूँगा’ as a backdrop was simply a masterstroke as it serves as anthem encapsulating the essence of never giving up. - take a bow director
The narrative is a biographical testament to the life of IPS officer Manojkumar Sharma, portrayed brilliantly by Vikram Massey. The gripping tale unfolds against the backdrop of a flawed education system, battling commercialized coaching institutions, and the biases against Hindi medium students. Massey's portrayal is nothing short of remarkable, proving his mettle as an exceptional actor. It's hard to believe this guy is an untrained actor, there is nothing messy in performance of Massey 😍.
Supported by a stellar cast, including the captivating Medha Shankar, the movie delivers an impeccable performance across the board. The film's flawlessly executed screenplay, poignant dialogues, and meticulous production design contribute to its brilliance, leaving little room for critique.
Personally, this movie struck a chord, evoking nostalgia (our Nutan Colony’s Paithanewada days of Aurangabad) for times reminiscent of struggles turned into triumphs, much like Jagdish Bilgi,my elder brother's IIT journey turning a dilapidated space (a bathroom) into his sanctuary of success (study room), resonating with the film's essence.
‘12th fail’ isn't just a movie; it's an emotional rollercoaster that tugs at the heartstrings. For those who missed the theatrical release, fear not, as the film's slated for an OTT release on December 29th (Disney+).
