Possession

Possession : My quick take on Ajay Devgan’s “Shaitaan” (theatrical release)

In the Bollywood circus of remakes, Ajay Devgan unleashes his possession powers in "Shaitan," a delightful spin on last year's Gujrat gem "Vash." Wonder if this black magic extravaganza will voo and posses you for a 2-hour mind-bender, but one thing is certain – Ajay's caught the remake bug, he is under a spell making remakes, from Dyrishyam to Bhola and now, Shaitan.

For a paranormal rollercoaster, it serves up enough edge-of-the-seat moments to keep your intrigue alive, even if the trailer spills the beans like an overenthusiastic chef. Tight screenplay, four family members, and a devil incarnate gatecrashing a holiday home – classic horror recipe. Ajay Devgan, the protective papa, pairs up with the endearing Jyothika, and the daughter, played by the impressive Janaki Bodiwala. R Madhavan steals the show as the devilish pied piper.

Despite the inevitable Gujrati Vash comparisons, fear not – even if you missed the original, enjoy the Vikas Bahl ka 'bhelish' treatment for that extra spice. It might not reach Geharaiyaa or Bhoot heights, but beware, it might scare you enough to swear off any snacks from strangers. 😜
