Rohit’s “Drona” !!

Rohit’s “Drona” : My quick take on Rohit Shetty’s “Indian Police force” (Amazon Prime)

Rohit Shetty's magnum opus, or should I say "Drona 2.0," takes drone obsession to new heights. Forget Abhishek Bachchan's Drona which vanished like honeybee on steroids – this is Shetty's love letter to drones, making him the undisputed 'drone Acharya' of the series. Mesmerizing shots aside, it's like he got a new toy and couldn't resist showing it off. Hence the series is packed with Drone shots, or should i say it's simply “over the top” 🤣.

In a recent ANI podcast, Shetty humbly admitted he's no K Asif or Ramesh Sippy – he is more like Manmohan Desai or Prakash Mehra in the popular director’s mold. This reflects in the Indian police force web series, clearly not competing with the likes of "Family Man" or "Special Ops." Love Shetty's craft, and you'll relish it; otherwise, it's a refined CID series.

Surprisingly, it's a profanity-free zone – a rarity in Delhi police setups. Praise the cop universe expansion without the customary F-word lessons!

Acting critiques are best avoided; Siddharth Malhotra's stiffness matches his starched uniform, and Vivek Ober impresses briefly. Shilpa Shetty, part of the new Shetty universe, nails it as a kickass Gujarat ATS officer – fitness goals, indeed. (Sunil Shetty Bhai अब आप भी तैयार रहो 😜)

Action choreography shines, especially in explosions – beautifully orchestrated car chases, drone shots, hand-to-hand combats, and dialogues sprinkled over seven episodes. It's a Rohit Shetty movie marathon, where police chase a bomb blast mastermind amid some “Napoleon brain-apart” moments. grab some popcorn and enjoy the series! All the best.

Else enjoy India England test match starting tomorrow, उधर भी एक रोहित actionmode में होगा 😜
