Skies of Spies and High-Flying Lies : My quick take on KJo’s “Yodha” (theatrical release)

Siddharth Malhotra's 'Yodha' feels like a graduation bash for the 'Student of the Year' alum, finally swapping those preppy blazers for some serious action gear. Mentor KJo must be beaming with pride, watching his protege leap from school drama to high-flying thrills.

The plot takes a page from Big B's playbook (काला पत्थर) with our disgraced hero trading his commando badge for a gig as an Air Marshall, only to find himself in a hijack plot that's more explosive than a Bollywood dance number. Malhotra brings the brawn and the bravado, showing off his combat chops on land and in the air. Let me confess that he is one of the few stars who looks good in uniforms. And let's not overlook Disha Patani, (should be called “Pathani” here 😉) who's more than just eye candy, adding some much-needed spice to the mix.

With more twists than a Bollywood romance, 'Yodha' serves up Desh Prem 2.0 with a side of Islamabad intrigue. Seems like Bollywood's new favorite pastime is staging action scenes across the border, a departure from 'crossing the border' to 'saving the neighbors home.' First, Tiger Bhai did it, now the colts are the following suit.

So whether you're hitting the theaters or chilling at home with Amazon Prime ( will be released shortly) , 'Yodha' guarantees a rollercoaster ride of adrenaline and excitement. Just make sure you buckle up for the wild journey ahead.
