The curious Case of Curon

The curious case of Curon: My quick take on Netflix’s web series “Curon”

If you prefer the supernatural genre and like to be spoken to, or if you liked the German series Dark, you might enjoy this Supernatural Drama set in a stunning setting of Northern Italy in a village called "Curon."

You may have heard a narrative that we all have two types of wolves within us, and it is up to us to feed whatever wolf we feed well, as it will appear in our personality, in certain management seminars or inspirational talks. When the title "CURON" appears, the letter "O" transforms itself into two overlapping of "O's." This is the premise of the film, and it is revealed in the first frame of the title itself.

I've watched some fantastic films/series with "split personalities" (Nail polish, Samantaar, Dvidhata, Kaun, Bhool Bhulaiyya, and a few others), and even the complicated online series "DARK" contains many representations of the same characters working in different time zones, but this concept is Zara Hatke. I won't go into detail because nahi to maza kirkira ho jayega.

The story is set in Curon, a lovely village where several populations (Germans, Austrians, and Italians) coexist in an uneasy closeness. The settlement is charmingly nestled on the bank of a massive lake with a massive bell tower placed smack amid the water; this enigmatic lake serves as the story's main point. The film is shot in a greyish tint, which adds to the plot's dark and somber tone. All of the actors are Italian (I am seeing them for the first time). Because the tale moves at a leisurely pace, I believe a tighter edit would have improved the series' overall quality. The plot is not as complicated as DARK, but there are enough suspenseful moments to keep you on the edge of your seat.

All I can tell now is that after watching this "Curon," you will be suspicious of your own shadow.
