The murder mystery of Gen-Nex

The murder mystery of Gen-NEX: My quick take on Netflix’s new web series ‘Black space’

I accidentally stumbled upon this well-made Israeli web series when I was just browsing around for some good content on the OTT platform. It’s a murder mystery that taking place in a school in Tel Aviv, where a group of Unicorn faces wielding masked men shower bullets at hapless students in a school function and suddenly they vanish from the site. Fingers are pointed towards few immigrants who had entered school to do some repair work and who were caught hiding on the school terrace. Police and authorities want to close the case making these immigrants confess the crime but it is the one-eyed inspector Davidi who smells a rat and is hell-bent on catching the real culprits.

This is a very well-made thriller with political overtones which makes you take a peek at how Gen-next of the country think and act rather than react. Black space is a secret social platform developed by students to communicate which cannot be hacked nor can be tampered with. Police somehow get access to this platform and crack the case. Students with Secret networks, 3D printed weapons, nightlife filled with drugs and dames is something very new to watch hence I had mentioned this review as a murder mystery of Gen-next.

It’s a decent watch if you love thrillers. However, I am not sure if there is going to be season 2, because this season ends without leaving any dovetail for season 2.
