Watchable watcher! : My quick take on “Watcher” (Netflix)

This Halloween if you want to get spooked by an eerie thing then you can't miss this new Netflix mini-series. This seven-episode-long mini-series will keep you invested most of the time (at least for the first 5 episodes for sure), though I would have loved a more potent and conclusive climax, the makers are successful in keeping the audience intrigued.

The plot hovers around the Bronnocks family who move into a new property in a plush suburb of a city. Their happiness of moving into this cozy place is short-lived as they start getting terrifying letters from someone who claims that he is ‘watching’ them. The needle of suspicion points towards various players in the neighborhood who are weird and cranky.

It is claimed that the plot is based on a ‘true story which makes it a must-watch whodunit or who’lldunit. I usually can crack the suspense of any drama but found it difficult to guess correctly who is the ‘watcher’, here I would like to commend the director for his wonderful storytelling skills. On the performance front veteran, Naomi watts is impressive, and Bobby Cannavale plays her husband of Naomi.

For me Watcher is definitely watchable, if you love whodunit kind of plots then you will also enjoy it.
