Whispers of morning : My quick take on classy movie “8 AM Metro” (theatrical release)

“8 AM Metro" is a symphony of life, a lyrical exploration of human connection, and an ode to the unexpected bonds that shape our existence. In this masterfully crafted film, director Raj Rachakonda adapts a Telugu novel into a cinematic gem that is nothing short of poetic. With every frame, he paints a vivid picture of Cyberabad, capturing its beauty and depth, making the city itself a character in this poignant tale.

The brilliance of "8 AM Metro" is elevated by its impeccable casting. Saiyami Kher and Gulshan Devaiah shine as two strangers, each battling their own demons, who serendipitously cross paths on the 8 AM metro. Kher's portrayal of Iravati, a woman plagued by panic attacks yet determined to support her pregnant sister, is both heart-wrenching and inspiring. Devaiah, as the compassionate banker who becomes her unexpected companion, brings warmth and depth to his role, creating a dynamic that is both genuine and uplifting.

On the performance front, apart from the brilliant Kher and Devaiah, our Marathi manus Umesh Kamath and Kalpika Ganesh leave a lasting impression in their brief cameos, adding another layer of authenticity and emotional resonance to the film.

The narrative is a beautiful blend of simplicity and profoundness. Iravati's reluctance to ride the train due to her anxiety is met with the kindness of Devaiah's character, leading to a journey that is as emotionally enriching as it is visually stunning. The director’s choice to make Iravati a poet and Devaiah a bookworm adds layers to their interactions, making their developing friendship a delightful dance of words and emotions.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Cyberabad, the cinematography is nothing short of breathtaking. Each shot is meticulously crafted to enhance the storytelling, making the audience feel the city's pulse and the characters' inner turmoil. This visual poetry complements the film’s narrative, making it a treat for both the eyes and the soul.

What sets "8 AM Metro" apart is its treatment of mental health issues. The film delicately addresses panic attacks and depression, offering a narrative that is both empathetic and empowering. It’s a testament to the power of human connection in overcoming life's darkest moments, making it a potential case study for NLP coaching.

The unexpected twist in the story adds a pleasant surprise, keeping the audience engaged and invested in the characters’ journeys. This unique love story (or perhaps a deep friendship) between two married individuals who help each other rediscover themselves is sheer poetry in motion.

Though it may be challenging to find this cinematic treasure in theaters, do not despair. Its anticipated OTT release on platforms like Netflix or Zee5 will soon allow audiences everywhere to experience this remarkable ride.

Don't miss out on "8 AM Metro" – it's a journey you won't want to miss.
