आईग ! नाहीग !! लाईग !!! : My quick take on KJo’s “Liger”

Once a movie actress approached GB shaw and requested to marry her stating that her ethereal beauty and his superlative intelligence will breed a rare personality with her beauty and his brains, to which GB Shaw replied “what if this was reversed? 😀”. This is the problem with any hybrid or cross-breed. You are not sure of the end product.

A Liger is supposed to be a cross breed of tiger and lion (sorry I Don't know who the father is), and it is assumed to have the best combative traits of these big cats. Our heroes mother played by Remya proudly claims that her son is a Liger, and like a proverbial filmy maa रास्ते पे चाय बेचके बच्चे को बडा करती है. Chalo bhai Hindi movie has progressed from mothers doing सिलाई to चाई 😁. She also dreams of making her only son the world champion of MMA (mixed martial arts).

Will the होनहार बेटा मा का सपना साकार करेंगा? is the wafer-thin plot of the movie. Telugu superstar Vijay devarkonda plays the Liger, His love interest whose attire in the movie is thinner than the plotline and looks more like an anorexic mannequin is played by Chunky Pandey’s daughter. he too gets to play a cameo, no I am not joking. If our hero is a handsome hunk then his lady is pathetic junk. Any sensible director would have just chopped off her entire role. All she has done is 3-4 dance routines and worn a few skin-revealing attires (sorry, correction here, there is nothing to reveal 😂)

The movie is packed with action and dances at regular intervals, I was a bit surprised with the quality of the rather forgettable songs (K Jo is one of the few makers who have a great sense of music hence this surprise). Hindi dialogs are awful. If you can stand Great Mike Tyson being bashed up by our hero then you can enjoy this absurd plot.

I don't know why the hero’s character was made to stammer, maybe Lion stammers looking at tigress 😀. On pthe performance front, Vijay Devarkonda has the required physicality of a macho star, his smile is endearing, his action scenes are impressive, and he is a superstar in making. On the other hand , Ananya Pandey looks more like a malnourished child and underdeveloped actor, I think her acting shelf life will be similar to her fathers.

Out of the many stupid scenes in the movie is a scene where the hero is involved in a slapping contest with goons, just for the heck of it. You as an audience will get this feeling of getting slapped for two hours for watching this rare breed.

Lesson learnt - चाय वाले वाक़ई प्रतिभाशाली होते है 😁
