जान बचाओ भाई: My quick take on Sallubhai’s “किसीका भाई किसीकी जान”

I am at a loss for words to describe this lackluster remake of a below-average South Indian movie. अरे यार कॉपी करना था तो किसी blockबस्टर का करते 😡. I am also at a loss to note how one can employ three writers to write the script and as many as 7 music composers to compose as many tracks in a single movie. It's a case of “too many cooks spoiled the broth”. Maybe our Bhaijan had wrong notions of either his Thallaiva-like star power or he has taken the Hindi moviegoers as ‘tube light. Oops, sorry, for a second I forgot it's a Bhaijaan movie where except for Bhai and his blue stone bracelet everyone and everything has a guest appearance, which includes the story as well as other actors.

The movie attempts to give a noble message of ‘भाईचारा’ where our bhai-in-chief is the big bro of three orphans namely मोह, लव, इश्क़ (the family looks more like a thesaurus of ‘प्रेम’)🤪. Like Shammi Kapoor of ब्रह्मचारी and Anil Kapoor’s Mr. India our Bhai too is a chronic bachelor by choice. Then enters a young Pooja Hegde who plays an archeologist thats why she get involved with this ‘old’ hunk 😉. She has done well in a chirpy role which will remind you of Kareena in Jab we met. But Bhaijaan has given her complex too by sporting hair longer then hers and in his shirtless avatar revealing that his cup size is better 😉.

Bhai’s role can be best described as ‘lunatic’ , I mean like lunar phases from gibbos to cresent phase. Sometimes he looked hulkishly beefed up, sometimes in an adorable chiseled version. But throughout the movie he has retained a kadak starchy look so much so that he has found difficult to walk and bend during dance moves.

The movie will make one feel nostalgic and export you to chitrahaar days as it is packed with forgettable songs and fast forward able dance routines, and in between songs, you have action scenes or some cringy dialog.
