दो आँखें छह हाथ : My quick take on Thallaiva’s movie “Jailer”

Read somewhere that “Stars pick Holidays for their releases, when Rajani releases a film its a holiday” and lo holidays were declared in chennai and Bangalore yesterday when this mega release was planned. Managed to see first day last show of part dark comedy, part thriller, part heist, part baap-beta melodrama, part khoon का बदला खून concoction of full too Rajani Masala, hence for die hard thallaiva fans it's a paisa vasool product. Even Thallaiva wanted it badly after a lukewarm response to his last movie ‘petta’. Hence this was more of a resurection exercise to prove that “Mutthu Tiger Pandiyan” अभी ज़िंदा hai.😍

What I loved about this movie is that Rajani plays his ‘age’ hence if you go to movie expecting his “Yenna Rascala” antics then you will be disappointed. But dont worry his swag with verbal punches are more that enough to make audience go wild. There are few moments like one with teary eyes thallaiva goes on to prove that ‘anna can act’ well.

Plot is about a retired father whose upright police commissioner son goes missing, hence the Father decides to investigate the matter himself. To help him solve the case he gets help from four superstars of Telgu, kannada, Malayalam and Hindi film industry (it's a good ploy to give the movie a pan-India feel), plus there is force fit item song by Tammana Bhatia, all this was will ‘jail’ you for nearly 3 hours.

Second best thing about the movie is it's BGM, this boy anirudh is going to be a next big thing in movies, watch him.

The Hindi dubbing is not up to the mark, rather it's very elementary, even the songs lyrics in Hindi are either laughable or ignorable 😉. Hence I doubt if this Jailer will be able to imprison audience of Hindi belt!!!.

A laboured length of the sub plots definitely needed a surgery, however the twisted climax makes up all the lapses. This new avatar of Thallaiva, who does not fight, who does not dance, who does not romance young heroines, yet impresses you with with swag, take a bow Thallaiva.
