भाईजान की बिर्यानी बनी खिचड़ी : My quick Take on bhaijaan’s ‘Radhe’

Only good thing about the movie is its length (its less than 2 hrs ~ around 100 mins only). Hence by a typical bollywood masala movie standard which is generally 3 hrs long , राधे should have been called आधे 😜. If we dissect the movie then 50 mins is action, 30 mins for mindless item songs and balance 20 mins is for some cringeworthy dialogues like ‘तुम्हारा नाम दिया है, अगर मेरी बहन होती तो मैं उसे नादिया बुलाता’, and some are even more gross dialog like Disha Patani saying ‘अरे ये तो खड़ा खड़ा सो गया, शादी के बाद क्या करेगा’ !!!🤪

Recently I had watched two full-to entertainment masala movie from south, Master and Robertt. Both these movies were way ahead in terms of plot, performances and entertainment quotient. Radhe had nothing, no well-defined storyline, neither the performances were worthy of remembering, well you question that in a sallubhai’s movies one doesn't need any story, just bhaijaan’s presence will make the movie hit. If that is so, then that myth is being shattered in this movie.

Even the 10-pack abs of stars (6 packs if sallu and 4 of Disha) it fails to keep the audience interest intact for 100 minutes. First time you will see that almost all item songs are performed by heroine, the villain (रणदीप हूडा) तो बेचारा सस्ते में मिल गया, he is wearing same costume throughout the movie ( I think he had joined this movie soon after his well made Hollywood flick ‘Extraction’ , as he is found wearing the same jacket here 😜). Bhaijaan looks jaded and his age is shown off in coping up with Prabhudevas dance steps. Disha Patani has a lively role, while handsome jaggu dada is totally wasted in a buffonish role.

With lusterless action, meatless plot, boneless heroine, toothless villain, and ageless hero, it makes it the ‘most unwanted bhai’. Sorry Bhai, आप तो बिरयानी बनाने वाले थे, लेकिन प्रभुदेवा ने तो इसे खिचड़ी बना डाला or should I say साम्बार राइस बना डाला. All I can say is ‘stay away, stay safe.
